My first attempt for an architectural competition was during my bachelor architectural engineering with some of my friends. It was a great experience for both design and collaboration and gave us the possibility to learn new drawing and presentation tools.
Our proposal was to use the potential of mass stability for building a skyscraper on a huge concrete floating base. This foundation could be build on land and sunken down in deep waters to provide a solid vertical base for lightweight skyscrapers. Building structures like this could change how humans/cities impact on our planet since they can be easily relocated and use the potential energy of the deep waters to power apartments, vertical farms and onboard utility functions.
