For Tainan’s new Public Library in Taiwan we used a BIM proces to let our Taiwan-Delft team collaborate together with our Taiwanese local partner MAYU architects towards an integrated design for it’s architecture, landscape and interior. The elegant stepped building has an flexible open floorplan with four infrastructural cores. The Basement of the building opens by patio’s to bring more light and fresh air into the building. On the fourth floor the library space protects the remaining library floors and is wrapped with a delicate skin to protect the people and books from the warm Taiwanese climate.
The models we made for this Library are so detailed that they contain all coordinated info needed to built and maintain the building for the years to come. For the overseas collaboration we used Autodesk collaboration for Revit to host our files in the cloud and let our consultants work on the models globally.
